January 16, 2026 — Unadilla Community Farm, a nonprofit organization dedicated to showcasing and teaching climate-resilient agriculture while increasing food access and access to herbalism for low-income, low-access communities, is seeking new members to join its Board of Directors.
Powers and Duties. The Board shall have general power to control and manage the affairs and property of Unadilla Community Farm Education Center subject to applicable law and in accordance with the purposes and limitations set forth in the Certificate of Incorporation
and herein.
(a) The Board may:
(i) Appoint and discharge advisors and consultants who have
skills necessary or helpful to Unadilla Community Farm Education Center.
(ii) Employ and discharge persons for the furtherance of the
purposes of Unadilla Community Farm Education Center.
(iii) Exercise all other powers necessary to manage the affairs
and further the purposes of Unadilla Community Farm Education Center in conformity
with the Certificate of Incorporation and these Bylaws.
(b) The Board shall:
(i) Direct the President and Treasurer of Unadilla Community Farm Education Center to
present at the annual meeting of the Board a financial report, verified by the President and Treasurer or a majority of the Directors, or certified by an independent public accountant or certified public accountant or a firm of such accountants selected by the Board. This report
shall be filed with the records of Unadilla Community Farm Education Center and a copy or abstract thereof entered in the minutes of the proceedings of the annual meeting of the Board.
(ii) Select all Officers for Unadilla Community Farm Education Center and approve the members of any committee appointed by the President.
Terms are 3 years
Officer roles include President, Vice President Secretary, and Treasurer
Nominations and elections take place at the annual meeting.
Individual director expectations
Time commitment: At minimum attending the annual meeting, estimated 2 hours, is the only requirement.
Additional time and meeting frequency is determined based on role and task contributions.
Participation expectations:
Contribution to working board duties is structured on a voluntary basis. Time and exceptions only extend to task and contributions board members commit to themselves.
Shared task include fundraising, social media/communications development, and event attendance (on-farm or community partners).
Desired profile and fit
The organization seeks individuals with professional or volunteer experience in social media and communications, grant writing and fundraising, and community engagement to help strengthen its operations and expand its reach.

Shared commitment to the UCF mission, integrity, respect for group processes and members, willingness to learn and follow policies (including conflict-of-interest and confidentiality).
Process and support
Applicants will be reviewed throughout 2026 on a rolling basis. Interviews will be schedule within two weeks of receiving interest and information. This will be followed by reference checks, and board vote. This process could take 2-3 months from initial contact.
Official notification will be provided the first week of January 2027. Attendance of annual meeting will include orientation and other introduction and role duties.
Funds of additional board training may be available over the course of the term. This is a grant funded expense that is not guaranteed.
